The experience starts with your first phone call. We’ll get to know each other a little bit, and discuss what you might be looking for from me. This is the “interview” part. You’re checking me out to see if I will fit your needs. I’m checking you out to make sure I can offer you what you’re looking for.
The majority of my sessions are done on location with the couple exceptions being mostly newborn portraits and some maternity portraits (if we shoot indoors, we will decide upon either your home or my home). Most sessions will last 1 to 1 1/2 hours (the exceptions being maternity, newborn and seniors- plan for 2 hours or so for these session). My job here is to capture you and your family with natural, beautiful expressions- no cheese here! So, Mom & Dad, sit back and relax, let the kids play and be silly- I want this to be fun and stress free for everyone! I’ll likely take some time to get to know you and your kids; I like them to warm up to me first for the optimum portraits! We all love smiles, so I’m likely going to make an absolute fool of myself to get your kids grinning from ear to ear (so no practicing smiles before-hand!). Some kids might be more serious, and that’s okay too. My own daughter won’t hardly smile for me if I’ve got my camera out, but that doesn’t stop me from capturing her personality- and boy does it shine through in her expressions! So, don’t worry if you feel like your kid isn’t cooperating- I’m positive I’ve seen pretty much everything- so I’m well equipped to work in a variety of situations. Remember, sit back, relax, have fun here! If I need your help, I won’t hesitate to ask!
After the portrait session, I’ll take about a week or two (we’ll clarify this at the end of the session) to process your images. Once your images are ready, I’ll set up an online gallery and send you the link. The gallery will be active for two weeks from that point, at which point you can choose your favorites and begin the order process.
