Hello there! As I’m sure you’ve discovered, I’m Rachel. I love doing portraits! I got my start in photography several years ago working at a chain portrait studio. I loved (and still do) working with families and their children! Making the experience fun for the kiddos and easy for mom and dad seemed to come naturally for me. Of course, I wanted to learn more! I bought my first SLR camera (film) and found a great local resource for photography classes. Boy, did I learn TONS!

Unfortunately, it just didn’t fit into my life at that point, and so photography sat on the back burner for a few years- though I did always miss it! Fast forward to last year- when my husband and I welcomed our first sweet baby. I wanted to make sure I was capturing all the good stuff- and pair that with the instant gratification of the digital era-  so I made the leap to my first digital SLR! It just followed naturally that I began doing portraits of my daughter, then friends & family, then their friends… you know where this is going! What an awesome journey I’ve embarked on- I’ve learned and grown so much- and I’m continually learning new things (because there is always room to grow)! I realized I needed to do this- and so Portraits By Rachel came along!
